Social Content Creator
Location: Remote
Type: Contract/Full Time
Salary: £25 - £40k (depending on experience)
About Car Throttle
Car Throttle is one of the biggest car communities on the internet, made by enthusiasts
for enthusiasts. From JDM legends to hypercars, project builds to petrol-fuelled chaos,
we create content that car people love to watch, share and argue about in the comments.
The Role
We're looking for a Content Creator who lives and breathes cars. You'll be the voice
and creative engine behind our social channels, turning the stories, news and culture of
the car world into scroll-stopping content that gets people talking and sharing.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be making the content yourself, not just scheduling it.
What You'll Be Doing
-
Creating a steady stream of engaging content for Car Throttle, including Reels, short-form
video, still image posts, graphics and memes
-
Spotting the stories, trends and moments in the car world that will land with our audience,
and acting on them fast
-
Planning and running our content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X, tailoring each
post to the platform
-
Writing sharp, funny, on-brand captions and copy that sound like they came from a
real enthusiast
-
Keeping an eye on analytics to understand what performs, then doing more of it
-
Engaging with our community and keeping up with what's happening in car culture and
on social platforms
What We're Looking For
Cars are your passion.
This is the most important thing. We want a true petrol head with real, deep
knowledge of cars, from modern classics to the latest launches, tuning culture to motorsport.
You should be able to tell a good car story from a boring one, and you'll know when a meme is
actually funny to car people.
You'll also have:
-
A great eye for what makes a story shareable and a post go viral
-
A strong working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X, and how each
platform's audience and algorithm behaves
-
Proven experience creating social-first content, especially short-form
video and memes
-
Hands-on experience with photo and video editing platforms, including Canva, Adobe
Creative Cloud (Photoshop in particular) and CapCut
-
The ability to work quickly, spot opportunities and juggle multiple posts and ideas at once
-
A portfolio, or social channels you've built or run, that shows what you can do
Nice to Have
-
Experience growing a car-related page, channel or community
-
Experience shooting your own content
-
Experience in automotive media or a creator/publisher environment
-
A journalism degree or ability to write articles/manage a CMS
