Head of Content

Crash, one of the largest motorsport sites in the world, is looking for a Head of Content.

Attracting almost 2m users per month, Crash is at the forefront of all things motorsport. The role itself is very wide ranging, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, managing the content team (5) to co-ordinate digital output, including video, social and newsletters. This will involve overseeing content creation and updating strategies, SEO optimisation and constant monitoring of rankings. And, of course, analytics will be your middle name.

The website continues to grow at pace, and you’ll be expected to play a pivotal role in developing and executing the strategy for continued growth. You’ll act as brand guardian to ensure that all output is suitable, and work with the commercial teams to optimise monetisation of the site.

Responsibilities Include?

  • Be the public digital face of Crash, building the profile of the brand in line with the content strategy.
  • Build relationships with teams, circuits and other key motorsports stakeholders to raise the profile of the site and create opportunities for it.
  • Lead across all aspects of the site’s operations, from uploading and publishing content to promoting it on social media channels.
  • Originate new content ideas to grow site traffic in line with the content strategy and develop content on all platforms, with special attention given to video and social content.
  • Be a key figure in determining the future of the platform
  • Maintain the highest editorial standards for all digital content created by Crash.
  • Develop the skills and knowledge of the wider Crash team with the aim of improving performance.
  • Work with the wider team to develop the site content strategy and grow traffic across all Crash channels.
  • Maintaining a quality balance across all multi language versions of Crash
  • Maintain regular reporting to the MD

You’ll be a proven content team leader and an experienced online journalist already working at editor, deputy editor or section head level and you’ll have a passion for producing user-focused content that’s perfectly optimised for maximum visibility in search.

​​​​​​Website growth and optimisation experience is more important than a knowledge of motorsport – although an understanding of Motorsport is preferable.

If you have experience of working on or running multi-language sites that would be deemed as a big advantage.
